A Fresh Start To Summer: Tommy Hilfiger SS’21 Collection

Let the winter blues melt away. Blossom into your best self this spring.

Over the years, Tommy Hilfiger has been able to give life to a unique and identifying imagination, strong in its identity and aesthetics, but always ready to evolve and to welcome new inspirations and trends. In particular, it has been able to open up to a huge audience thanks to the introduction of new lines, such as the hugely successful Sport Collection, or the Tommy Jeans collection, aimed at younger generations.

As the Spring 2021 season approaches, Tommy Hilfiger has unveiled the various proposals that will make up the different labels of the brand, fresh and contemporary collections that at the same time are immediately recognizable and unmistakable, impossible to miss.

After the pandemic shut down New York in March, Tommy Hilfiger migrated south. He’s spent most of his time in Palm Beach and Miami, and found his inspiration for spring in the area’s famous pastel architecture and outdoor activities: golf, tennis, boating, sunbathing. On first glance, the collection is a familiar mix of the brand’s reworked-prep style—striped oxfords, seersucker shorts, college blazers—but it isn’t cloyingly nostalgic. Instead, Hilfiger is proposing what “classic American style” should look like in the 2020s: more casual, more comfortable, more inclusive, and more sustainable.

Tommy Hilfiger SS 2021

The Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2021 collection draws inspiration from Miami‘s aesthetic, celebrating the preppy-chic style of Palm Beach’s country clubs and drawing inspiration from the colourful buildings of Ocean Drive. Continuing on this wave, the collection rewrites the country club aesthetic by combining the stylistic codes of tennis, golf and yachts declined on shirts, outerwear – such as Sailing and Varsity Jackets – and blazers typical of the Hilfiger imaginary.

The same Miami vibes can be found in the Tommy Jeans collection, where street inspirations and sports aesthetics meet in basketball-inspired T-shirts, vintage prints, work wear details and 3D effects.

Finally, within the Tommy Sport line, we find the chromatic scheme that has always characterized the label, this time declined on garments with a sporty flavour that see important technological innovations, ranging from recycled and waterproof materials to organic cotton and the possibility of being stretched over and over again.
